The Worldwide Directory of Modern Slavery Organisation launched earlier this month with Freedom in Disasters being one of 770 verified organisations. We are proud to be part of this publicly searchable database specialsed on human trafficking and forced labor. By enabling actors in the anti-human trafficking field to better locate, identify, and connect with each other, the tool will help connect victims of human trafficking and at-risk populations to the help they need.
The Directory is a collaboration between Polaris, the Freedom Fund, and the Walk Free Foundation. It enables service providers, law enforcement, policy makers, and advocates to both identify modern slavery organisations in specific countries and determine what services are or are not provided. Mapping verified organisations internationally also enables the Directory to highlight regions and countries where services for victims are lacking or non-existent.
Organisations that wish to be verified for the Global Modern Slavery Directory can contact Polaris at global@polarisproject.org for more information. Great to be part of this amazing initiative to work towards our vision of a world where disasters are not used to exploit vulnerable men, women and children.
